Reality Show Starlet and model on Wednesday sued the clothing company and the parent company, The Gap Inc., in Los Angeles federal court on their advertisements violated her publicity rights with ads that have a woman who resembles her. Kardashian, 31, has shot to fame in recent years after having received such prominence as a friend of Paris Hilton and having a sex tape. She performs with her family on the entertainment TV show "Keeping Up with the Kardashian" and routinely grace magazine covers.
Her lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and wants a federal judge to prevent Old Navy from using a Kardashian lookalike model in their ads again. Kardashian "has invested significant time, energy, finance and entrepreneurial endeavors in the development of her great professional and business results and success, and the development of her popularity, fame and prominent in the spotlight," the lawsuit states.
