The new Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2011 is Miss Santiago Dalia Fernandez. She won the title tonight, just moments ago, in a glittering, nationally-televised ceremony. Guest of honor was Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarete, who asked each of the five finalists a question. Marianne Cruz, Miss Universe Dominican Republic 2008, co-hosted the pageant. First runner-up in the contest was Miss Sto. Dgo. Norte Katherine Cruz. Rounding out the top five were Miss Distrito Nacional Kirssi Abreu, Miss Peravia Evaida Santana (she appeared to be the crowd favorite), and Miss El Seibo Luz Goico.
